CD-Rom Backup Disk

In the case of a suspected employee exposure, medical personnel need the first aid and treatment information from the MSDS.  Instead of finding an out of date paper copy, the CD-Rom can be sent to the hospital with the patient.  The disk can be read using any computer.

Most Local Emergency Planning Commissions (LEPC) require copies of your MSDS’s in order to plan for fire or rescue emergencies that might occur at your manufacturing operation.  This requirement is met by sending them the CD-Rom.

After a number of years, an employee can claim that you “knew” that a particular chemical caused their medical problems.  Using the CD-Roms as an archive function, you have a record of the information available during the time they might have been exposed.  This allows the employer to present the information that was available at the time of the suspected exposure.
